Talking to the moon
I chose this selection because I thought it personified the issues that were art the heart of the Indian culture from the start. I think that these issues, as we learned in US History were that the white people did not respect the indian people or their bond with nature and believed they were superior due to the fact they belived the indians did not use technology and that their lands were being wasted whiel in turn the indians belived that nature was worth more then the factories and such that could be built on it. In the novel a while man Joseph matthews goes to spend time by himself with nature in order to become in touch with it and loose his dependance on technology. I was partially amazed how when he is out in nature he looses his dependance on nature even though he raelaizes that with technology so many things would be much easier. I think this is due to the fact that he sees that he can survive the toughest challenges without anything but nature

I feel that you were exactly right in your description of corporate America ruining the lives of the historic Native Americans. I also noted this in my reflection. It is sad that the Native American culture has been destroyed by the Americans. It seems that ultimately it was the American's greed that destroyed their home, due to the fact that they siezed their land only to sell it, raising money for the government, or to harvest crops.
Similiar to what Joey stated above, I believe that the culture and tradition of the Native American people has been destroyed due to the American civilizations which have come and established a new society based upon economoics and industrialization. In my honest opinion, I feel that you captured the spirit of the Native American people, however, I believe that giving an actual passage from "Talking to the Moon" by John Joseph Mathews would only benefit your blogspot and provide insight upon the lives of the Native American people!
